The Kings got a pick in a trade with the Pelicans and in that trade, they sent Quincy Acy to New Orleans. Acy is a sharpshooter that would be able to defend elite scorers, he has nice size and he shoots a career 45% from the 3 point line. The Kings sent this sharpshooter to New Orleans, but what did they get? They also got Quincy Acy.
The Kings have a long history of getting guys from New Orleans. DeMarcus Cousins was a former Louisiana-Monroe Colonels basketball player and Tyreke Evans also played at the University of New Orleans. The Kings and New Orleans are back to back.
Now Acy could help the Kings in the future, but I think the Kings could take an interest in an under the radar prospect from New Orleans. From 2013 to 2014, Acy played with the University of New Orleans Privateers, a highly ranked New Orleans Prep school. While playing for the Privateers, Acy averaged 20.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He averaged 14.7 points per game in his senior year, as he became the first New Orleans Prep School senior to score over 1,000 points in his high school career.
